When to Change Your Workout Routine
Even the best fitness routine can become stale after a while. When you’re trying to lose weight, it’s important to keep your routine effective and fun. Otherwise it’s going to be rough getting motivated and sticking with it. Here are some signs that you might need to change up your routine:
- You’re not seeing results. Were the inches and pounds melting away before? While it’s common to have a plateau at some point, you should always be seeing results. If you’re not, it’s time to change things up. Try a new class or a new sport.
- You’re feeling pain and fatigue. Are you suddenly experiencing pain or more fatigue than usual? You may be overworking yourself or working out on a stress injury. Change your fitness routine and consult your doctor or fitness expert if you think you may have an injury.
- It’s too easy. Is your workout a breeze? You may be ready to advance. Remember, you should be feeling “the burn” and getting your heart rate up. If everything feels very easy, you are probably not working hard enough.
- You’re bored. Even the perfect workout can be boring. If you’re seeing results but you’re bored, you may be likely to fall away from your routine. Make sure you switch things up with new workouts. Try a fitness class or getting outdoors.
